Absolutely terrible experience with the Hercules recovery kit. A staff member even admitted the snatch block was basically “garbage,” which instantly killed any confidence I had in the product. When I tried to return it unopened and within 30 days—because of the bad reviews and my lack of peace of mind—they refused. The store manager, Kaan, even said Kings products used to be really bad quality, yet still wouldn’t approve a refund. I only bought it because they told me it was suitable for my massive 4x4 towing a heavy caravan, but after what I learned, I don’t feel safe using their products at all, especially anything related to safety or recovery. Wouldn’t recommend.

So I came to this store thinking it was on the way back home to Wollongong just to return a simple roof bag that I no longer needed and I’ve just bought a couple weeks ago. The store was quite busy however severely understaffed as other staff had even mentioned. I find it extremely ridiculous and unprofessional the fact that I needed to wait 1 hour and 5 minutes to return my item I tried this same thing at the Campbelltown store and it took me five minutes to complete. I then asked if this other guy who wasn’t doing anything on the counter, a blonde fellow with tattoos and another lady with a pony tail and shorter cut around with him (I don’t know their names I can only describe them) and he started tending to me. Then he passed it on to the only girl that was working at the customer service counter who was already struggling and this was about half an hour into my wait. This frustrated me as even more because as I was watching this bloke, after he handed my case to her, he was talking to customers and having a laugh. At one point he even jumped on his phone. During this time he was just pulling trolleys to restock shelves I understand that stock is important but how is this more important than your actual customers we’re going to buying these items and talk about your store to others. I had to wait another half an hour before I actually got somewhere. Even the lady in the customer service counter called up the service departmnet over the phone because even she was confused about the system not working. I think this is very clearly shows that there’s a lot of unprofessionalism, untrained staffed and even being short staffed in such a critical period of the year. Not her fault, just a poorly managed store. Absolutely none of the staff showed initiative to even bother to ask or help me with this case. I repeat nobody took the initiative to help me out unless I actually asked. I literally had to go and speak to the store manager in order for me to actually get this processed and for me to travel back to Wollongong I told him “how is stock a priority right now. You’ve got three or four staff members pulling in stock at 4:50pm and I’ve been waiting here an hour” I said “your customers are the number one priority” however he said and quote “I’m not trying to be a smart arse but stock is very very important” and I said “it takes five minutes to put in a return and it’s just ridiculous that I need to bring this to your attention to even do this”. I said “I work in hospitality and customers are important.” he then said “I’ve managed 35 cafes before”. No idea how that’s relevant but clearly I can tell that you don’t really care about your customers even though you’ve had all that experience. I needed to wait one hour and five minutes after I actually told him he came and he sorted it out in less than two or three minutes. No apologies, no compensation for my time and a simple store credit was given. Pathetic. I don’t even know if I’m gonna purchase anything from here any more. I accepted that despite the entire hour I needed to wait at the store in frustration. I’m actually really disappointed in the fact that no one is gonna compensate me for my time for the whole hour and five minutes I was there with my wife as well. I still have the drive back to Wollongong and I thought this would be a simple enter and leave within five or 10 minutes. I was also going to purchase a 45 L stayz cool fridge but by that point I was actually so frustrated. I refused to buy it and I don’t even know if I want to come back. I definitely will be escalating this with head office in one way or another. AVOID this store at all costs.

Had rain shields and a solar panel fitted to my vehicle and overall it was a good experience. The team were efficient, got the job done without mucking around, and the install itself was neat and practical. Everything works as expected and the fitment was done well. Communication was straightforward and turnaround time was reasonable. A solid option if you’re looking to get accessories fitted without fuss. Would use 4WD Supacentre again.
